Best London Christmas Markets

Christmas is less than a week away! Don’t miss your chance and check out these top London Christmas markets and festive fairs. Last-minute shopping on the high street driving you crazy? Want to get something unique and hand-made for this special someone? Perhaps, you just want to indulge with some mulled wine and churros? Maybe listen to Christmas music while getting into the festive mood? Here’s my pick of the top discoveries and ways to link them to visit few at a time (bargain!). Let me know what you think of them!
Southbank Centre Wintertime – until 4th January
Have a stroll along this Nordic-inspired cute market with fabulous views over the river and city’s most recognisable landmarks. Warm yourself up with some mulled wine, book a private igloo “Snow globe” for a meal, take a ride on the merry-go-round and check Wintertime site for some performances and surprises Southbank Centre prepared for its guests, many of which come free.
Christmas by the River – until 3rd Jan
Continue your jolly walk along the river toward Tower Bridge and enjoy this absolutely wonderful picturesque market with the City skyline at the background. Start from the Hay’s Galleria and slowly head towards Tower Bridge. Treat yourself to some unique Christmas specials, such as mulled gin with flavoursome liqueurs, kangaroo burger and chocolate kisses.
The Cheesegrater Christmas Market at The Leadenhall Building – until 22nd Dec
If you’re in for a proper walk, continue your journey across the river to the Cheesegrater Christmas market. Enjoy the stunning Leadenhall Market in its full festivity while listening to Christmas carols, followed by champagne and oysters. The contrast of the modern buildings around surrounded by festive aromas is truly unique and fun. Note, the market is open Mon-Fri only.
Christmas in Leicester Square – until 6th Jan
Experience one of London’s most famous squares turn into a jolly playground. Come here to visit Santa’s grotto and meet Mr Claus himself or enjoy many Christmas shows at vintage Spiegeltent. Check their site to find out of all the activities that are on and get your tickets early.
Greenwich Christmas Market – until 24th Dec
Here is to the cosiest Christmas market I’ve been to so far 🙂 Greenwich Xmas market feels like a small town’s gathering, with a great selection of gifts to choose from. Come here for crafts, jewellery, antiques, arts and fantastic homemade food goods. Want to get your dog’s custom portrait? Try some lychee jelly chocolates? Or simply indulge with mini-pancakes and brandy mulled wine? The choice is yours!

Carnaby Christmas Carnival – shop in style at this wonderful street and enjoy the stunning carnival decorations.
Harrods Dolce and Gabbana window displays – enjoy this wonderful collaboration of the two great brands. The window displays are beautifully animated with dancing puppets, disco balls and, of course, beautiful clothes. Come in to check out the in-store take-over too,
Selfridges Christmas decorations – get yourself excited for Christmas with some wonderful festive window displays outside and a disco feel inside. Not only there are disco balls hanging all over the store but also a massive inflated floating Santa greeting visitors coming from the Oxford street!
Covent Garden – this good old market is undoubtedly stunning all year round but it does get extra magical around Christmas time. Perfect for shopping, food or just chilling, it’s the ultimate must-visit.
